You can clean faster and more efficiently with just a few clever strategies each day and make managing your home a little easier. Here are several helpful tips to get you started.
Change the soap in your shower and at the bathroom sink with a glycerin or vegetable oil based soap. Most traditional soaps leave a milky white residue that also gets on your shower walls. Going with a hemp-based soap will reduce the number of times you need to clean because it doesn’t leave behind the gunk. Here are a couple of great brands to consider. Pears, Neutrogena, or Dr. Bronner’s soap.
We live in a world where almost everyone has a cell phone now. With that comes many distractions, because our phones are constantly reminding us of appointments, notifying us of social interactions and constant emails flooding into our inbox. One tiny device can very easily distract you into a rabbit trail that tumbles you into hours of lost/wasted time each day.
Distractions happen says, “Vicki Brown, President of Harmony Clean. It should take me two hours to clean my house, but it typically takes four hours.” We should turn the phone off and streamline the process by eliminating as many distractions as possible. Shut down the computer, turn off the tv, power down the cell phone and tablet and start cleaning like a pro.
Make a list of what needs to be done in your home and start with the simple stuff first. Depending on your house, the dining room, living room or home office might be the easiest places to start.
Is your toothbrush a little grimy? How about that dish strainer on the kitchen counter? Empty those things out and put them in the dishwasher. This is a great way to clean these items:
Put it in the dishwasher on the top shelf and let it run while you clean the rest of your house.
If you are not using a squeegee, you should start! Who really enjoys cleaning the bathroom? One of the easiest ways to reduce your time in cleaning the bathroom is with a squeegee. Buy one and get everyone in your house to use it when they are done with their shower. Wipe down the walls from top to bottom while reducing the soap scum and water residue. This will prevent it from evaporating on the surface of your shower door which leaves spots and soap scum.
